God's blessings

I am blessed to have a God that loves me. That he wants me to come to him and spend time with him. I know that he has so much planned for me and my sweetie. I am so blessed to have a husband who loves me with all his heart. He is such a blessing to me. God blessed my husband with a pay raise that will help us so much. I am debating about going back to work. I miss certain things about being a pre-school teacher. I know that God will show me in his timing what he wants me to do. I love working at the church once a week, doing children't ministry stuff.

I am facing my insecurities that are in my life right now.

I haven't posted on this blog in a very long time. We can't adopt right now due to medical situation that prevents us from adopting from China. We are looking into Ethiopia. I know that God has a plan for us to have a family. I am trusting in him to direct. But one thing I am sure of is that we will go overseas and serve. I am not sure what that will look like. But I praise God that he knows and has a plan for us. I hope someday we will be able to adopt Hannah. She is definetely in our hearts.

Thanksgiving 2008

This Thanksgiving, we had two of them. We spent Thanksgiving at the retirement home that my husband's grandma lives out. It was fun. We had a chance to look at old family photo's and spend time with her. Then on Friday, we went down to San Jose where my father and step-mom live. We meet up with my brother and his girl-friend there.

A fun day!

Due to Tom working last Sunday, he was able to take today off. After we had to get one of Tom's tires fixed. We decided to go to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. We have been before. But it is such a fun place to go. It was busy. But it didn't stop us from being able to go on the factory tour. It is so neat to see how the jelly beans are made. Then we got free jelly beans. Then we had a late lunch. After that, we decided to go to the Nut Tree area in Vacaville. They have a cute family park there. We didn't go in. Since you had to pay to get in. But we got ice cream at a creamery and watched all of the action. They had some cute kids rides. We then went shopping. There was a Old Navy store. I got two sweaters each for $6.00 and a bag for $6.00. I got a Rachel Ray cookbook at Home Goods. We headed home. Then we went to Target and had dinner at Pei Wei. It was such a fun day.

Our 5th Anniversary

On Saturday, Tom and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. I can't believe it has been 5 years already. Since our anniversary fell between Good Friday and Easter, we decided to stay in town. So we went for Afternoon Tea at a place called Afternoon to Remember in New Castle. We had a full tea. So we started off with a sweet potato soup and black ham quiche. So very yummy. Then we had tea sandwiches and scones with Devonshire Cream and lemon curd. A couple of yummy desserts also. We were so full. So we were able to bring home some of our goodies. We also got a picture taken of us that was put in teapot frame. Which turned out to be a great picture of us. It was fun to have tea. When we were on our honeymoon in Victoria,Canada. We went to have tea at the Empress Hotel. Which was fun. So having tea together is special thing for us to do.

After tea, we decided that we didn't want to go home since the day was so beautiful. So we decided to go out to the outlets. We just walked around. I got a couple of kitchen stuff.
Then we had a couple of errands to do. So we did those and went home. It was a nice day. I love spending time with my husband. He is so much fun. I love him very much!!!

A New Chapter in our lives!

I can't believe how long it has been since I last wrote on this blog. Life has been crazy. We lost my mother in law to cancer the day after my birthday. She was only 52 years old.The next day, we lost my grandfather. My grandfather was almost 98 years old. It was a hard time to have two deaths in our family. We are now the owners of the house that my mother in law lived in. I am so glad to be out of our apartment. We moved from a one bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house. Moving is not fun:) But now I have to unpack everything. But I can take my time.

2007 China Calendar

We just got in the mail the China 365 Days in 2007 Calendar. It is a nice calendar. I enjoy seeing the pictures. It is also a reminder of our daughter who God will bring to us one day. I look forward to seeing her! She is always in my thoughts and prayers!

Wow! It has been a long time since I have last posted. I have add some more stuff to Hannah's Collection. The stuff on the left is what I brought with a gift certificate I got for my Birthday in November. The stuff on the right is stuff I got for Christmas. I got the green stocking just in case we have a son someday. If not, we can give it to someone else someday.
Also a update on this 1st day of January, Tom and I have decided that we will not be able to adopt from China right now. The changes that CCAA is making to the China Program will affect us. We know that one day we will have our daughter from China. We give her to God and ask him to bring her to us in his timing. We both have a peace. We keep Hannah in our hearts. Our prayers this year is for God to bless us with a child. This wish is even more precious because we found out the day after Christmas, that my mother in law has incurable lung cancer that had spread to her back and stomach. She had surgery to remove the cancer from her back and stomach the day before Thanksgiving. She will go through chemo and radiation. We are not sure when yet. So we want her to meet her grandkid(s) since Tom is her only son. As we start 2007, I am reminded how precious life is. I thank God for my husband who is my best friend. I can't believe we have been married almost 4 years. I thank God for our health. I also thank God for all of my family and friends. I also thank God for our church. I also thank God for the people who I have been introduced to this year through all the blogs I have found. Hopefully in 2006, I will stop lurking and comment. I thank God for all of the precious girls and boys who I have watched be joined with their Forever Families. I also pray for those families who so want to have their children home but have to wait. But I know that they will have the right child for them in the right timing. Waiting is not fun though! I am so excited about 2007 and what this year holds for Tom and I. What does God have planned for us?

What a special day!

My friend, Christi has been in the process of international adoption from China since 2005. She meet her daughter, Abbey today for the first time. Abbey is such a gift from God. Christi is going to be a wonderful mom. I am so happy for Christi and Abbey! May God bless their family. Abbey is now a part of a family who will love her and be there in good times and bad times. She is no longer an orphan. Giving thanks to God for putting those two together! What a happy time and they will have so many happy moments together. The Orphan's Prayer
I am waiting... somewhere far.... far... away on the other side of the world.I may not know who you are or what you look like,But somehow deep in my heart I know you are there. That one day you will come and find me.It's a long journey, and it takes a lot of time...I wish it could be easier. But I know that the ones who come for me will not count the cost. They will only see the joy of finding me.For now I abide in the fields of the fatherless.Day by day wondering why I was born here and not somewhere else?Asking... why my life couldn't have been different? It's so lonely...Even though I am surrounded by hundreds of other children,I know that something is missing...I know in my heart I need a place to call home.My arms long to be wrapped in a father's embrace...I long to be saved by a mother's love...Even as I lie alone in the darkness each night somehow I feel assured,That no matter how lost I appear I am not alone.Holy hands guard my steps; sacred fingers wipe my tears, touching my lonely heart. The one who made me,The God that knew me before I was born,Hears me every time I call.He whispers His promises in my ear.I listen with hope to His voice. But what I worry about most is that no one wants to look for me.The fields are vast and there are so many scattered all over the earth.I wonder how one little child, so lost, can be found?Yet He calms my heart and assures me that He will find you. That He will make sure that you hear His voice clearly. He has promised me that He will make a way through the fields,That He will personally cut a path and lead you right to my orphange door.My prayer is...When He speaks...Please don't forget to listen...When He calls don't be too afraid to go.For I am waiting...somewhere, far... far... away On the other side of the world To come home.

Adoption Seminar

Yesterday, my husband and I went to adoption seminar that was given by American World Agency. We learned about the agency and the couple who started it. We were touched by what God thinks of adoption. We have had a desire on our hearts for 3 years now to adopt our daughter. We know that our desire is from God. We know that God wants us to reach out to the widows and orphans. We also met a man who is married and adopted his only daughter from China. He showed a short clip of their gotcha moment. It was so neat to watch the little baby get united with her parents. What a incredible moment! Then we got to see her now. What a sweet girl. What a gift from God. We also watched a video about Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife and their adoptions. As we were leaving, the man who adopted his daughter stopped us and talked to us. It was neat to tell him that we are starting the process to adopt. He invited us to a local group for adoptive parents of all stages. I have done so much research online and have meet so many families through blogs. But haven't met any one locally. So it is great to hear that we can meet another families and see children that have been adopted. I am so excited to be able to be a part of the group. I know that they will be great resource and support system for us along with our church and our family. I know that adopting internationally isn't easy. But I know that if it is God's will for us, he bless us as we start the journey and through the journey. I am so excited to say that we are on the way to our daughter Hannah.

A couple of things for Hannah

I got this tea set for Hannah. I also collect tea pots and tea cups. I look forward to having tea parties with our children. I am blessed to have a husband who will go to tea with me. On our honeymoon, we had high tea at the Empress in Victoria. It was so much fun. There are also a couple of tea places near us which we go to when we have time.

I got these two dresses at Kohl's. I know I will not know Hannah's age until the referral. So I am getting 24 months dresses. I am trying not to spend too much money on clothes for Hannah. It is hard there is too many cute clothes for girls.
